THE MORE I ATTEND THE WORKSHOP THE MORE I LEARN MORE

“The more I attend the workshop the more I get a lot”, this is what I have discovered this after get a lot from my facilitator. Today is a third day of our training, since we started this short course of internet training, am starting to see the light it searching information from different websites

As usually I attended the workshop place early and start to open different websites and reviewing of what we learnt last day before the facilitator began training. The topic of today is internet as a tool in journalism. The workshop facilitator, Piek Johansson trained us on how to access information from different websites.

Apart from abroad website, he tought us on how to see our local newspapers like ipp medeia, new habari ,freemedia, mwanacnchi, the arusha times, global publishers, uhuru and startv.

He advised us also when we write our stories; we have to put on our contact in order t to let readers to comment.

“Most of journalists do not put their telephone or e mail address on the end of their stories, and even radio or TV presenters don’t mention their telephone numbers for comment or advice” said Johansson.

“How many of you visit t the Tanzania national website?” Johansson asked us. Only two people among us visit it, this means that we don’t have habit of visiting our website or we were not aware on that site. The Tanzania national site is www.tanzania.go.tz, in this you can find a lot like national information, union government, banking services, mass media and many more.

Another site that make happy is http://www.jamiiforums.com/, really surprised on this site, here you can find almost what you are looking for like what is going on in Tanzania, music information like bongo flavor, taarabu, and zilipendwa and gospel songs. Apart from those you can ask question which you are interest to know about

Other news sites those we have learnt today are http://www.ipsnews.net/, http://www.nation.co.ke/, http://www.allafrica.com/, http://www.ajol.info/, and sport sites are http://www.fifa.com/, http://www.uefa.com/, http://www.cafonline.com/,

We learnt also on how to know capital cities on different countries .
